荷兰CytoBuoy公司是一家受欧盟资助、专业生产浮游植物流式细胞仪的公司。

传统的流式细胞仪只能分析较小的细胞（< 15 mm），不适合分析体积较大的浮游生物细胞。从1986年开始，该公司就受荷兰和欧盟资助，设计生产专为浮游生物分析设计的流式细胞仪——光学浮游生物分析仪（Optical Plankton Analyser，OPA）。

1996年，该公司提出了设计野外在线监测型流式细胞仪的理念，并连续10年获得欧盟资助。在此基础上，该公司设计生产了全球第一台便携式浮游植物分析流式细胞仪——CytoSense，全球第一台在线监测型流式细胞仪——CytoBuoy，以及全球第一台水下流式细胞仪——CytoSub。其中CytoSense的特殊版本CytoSense GV型，可以直接分析带气囊的微藻样品（如微囊藻、棕囊藻等），省去了破碎气囊的复杂步骤。

根据需要，CytoSense可升级为CytoBuoy或CytoSub。CytoBuoy可以无线传输数据，传输距离达16 Km。CytoSub可以在水下200 m处正常工作。

新增“指纹”功能可以建立浮游植物数据库，利用流式细胞仪进行浮游植物分类。
