Description | GATA4 Polyclonal Antibody. Transcription factor GATA-4 is one of the zinc-finger transcription protein factor in mammals encoded by the GATA4 gene. This is a protein thought to regulate genes involved in embryogenesis and in myocardial differentiation and function. It is expressed in early mesenchymal differentiation paradigms as well. GATA-4 plays a critical role in regulating basal or stress induced gene expression in cardiac and smooth muscle cell types. Mutations in the GATA4 gene have been associated with cardiac septal defects. |
