Description | Anti-GAL4. Galectin-4 (GAL4) belongs to a subfamily of galectins which are beta-galactoside-binding proteins. The GAL4 protein of Saccharomyces cerevisiae is one of the most highly characterized transcriptional activators. Galactose-mediated induction of gene expression in yeast is under the control of the transcriptional activator Gal4. Fusions between GAL4 and activating domains from a variety of transcriptional regulatory proteins can activate transcription in yeast, plant, insects and mammalian cells. |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised against 74-147 residues at the N-terminus of yeast GAL4 (the DNA binding domain). |
