BMH 71-18 mutS 和ES1301 mutS是一种错配修复消减的­E. coli菌株。该菌株可以防止对新合成的未甲基化链进行修复从而导­致高频率突变的发生，并可用于GeneEditorTM 和Altered Sites® II­Mutagenesis Systems。BMH 71-18 mutS 和ES1301 mutS 菌株是­recA+型的，因此含有高度重复序列的插入片段可能不稳定。­ES1301用于Altered Sites® II System，是 Tets，可在抗生素抗性间转­换。BMH 71-18 是Tetr，因而，只能用于挑选 Ampr或CATr突变，或­用于 GeneEditorTM System。

ES1301 mutS基因型: lacZ53, mutS201:Tn5, thyA36, rha-5, metB1,­deoC, IN(rrnD-rrnE).

BMH 71-18 mutS基因型: thi, supE, △(lac-proAB), [mutS::Tn10],­[F`, proAB, lacIqZ△M15].
