Description | | Polyclonal anti-peptide antibody against GABAA α4 subunit cytosolic loop |
Form | | Affinity Purified Antibody in 10 mM Hepes (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 ug/mL BSA and 50% glycerol. |
Host | | Rabbit |
Species Reactivity | | Rat |
[Ab] | | ~0.15 mg/mL |
Specificity | | This antibody is specific for GABAA receptor α4 subunit (protein with apparent molecular mass 64 kDA) in rat brain membrane fractions. The antibody was raised against a fusion protein of MBP with amino acid sequence representing the cytosolic loop of the rat A receptor α4 subunit and was purified using chromatography on affinity columns made with the antigen fusion protein. |
Uses | | This antibody is effective for use in immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation. |
Suggested Working Dilution | | The optimal working dilution should be determined for each specific assay condition. This antibody is sold for laboratory research use only, not for human or in-vivo use. Covance antibodies may not be resold or modified for resale without prior written approval. - Western blot: 1:1,000*
- Immunoprecipitation: 8% of all GABAA receptors in dodecylsulfate extracts of rat forebrains (150ul) using 20 ug antibody

Notes | | *Predicted MW= 64kD |
Storage | | Store at -20°C. Upon initial thawing, apportion into working aliquots and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to prevent denaturing the antibody. |
