SpecificityNeuronal Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor, β2-Subunits, Monoclonal Antibody - NEUROSCIENCEThis antibody was generated in rats against purified neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (AChRs) from chicken brain. It binds to the extracellular surface of neuronal AChR β2-subunits. The antibody binds to native subunits as well as denatured subunits although with lower affinity. Clone 270 is useful for immunoisolating and pharmacologically characterizing AChRs, immunopurification of AChRs and is also useful histologically. The antibody cross-reacts with chicken and rodent AChRs as well as human, albeit with lower affinity.
