Description

Purified Bovine IgG is isolated from pooled normal bovine serum by fractionation and ion-exchange chromatography. The product is supplied as an essentially salt-free (less than 1% sodium), lyophilized powder.

Uses

Purified IgG may be used as a reference antigen,standard, blocking agent or coating protein in a variety of immunoassays including ELISA, dot immunobinding, Western immunoblotting, immunodiffusion and immunoelectrophoresis. Other applications include starting materials for the preparation of immunogens and solid-phase immunoadsorbents.

Reconstitution

The product is essentially a salt-free preparation and should be reconstituted to a minimum of 1 mg/ml with a saline (150 mM NaCl) solution. Protein concentration should be determined after reconstitution by absorbance at 280 nm (E280 1% = 14).

Storage

Prior to reconstitution, store at 2-8 °C. After reconstitution, store aliquots at –20 °C. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended.

Appearance: White, lyophilized powder.Solubility: Slightly hazy, colorless solution at

50 mg/ml in 0.85% NaCl. Sodium Content (ICP-Atomic Emission): ≤1% by weight

Water Content (Karl Fischer): ≤10% by weight Identity (Immunoelectrophoresis): Single arc of

precipitation in the gamma region at 50 and 250 ìg of immunoglobulin versus anti-bovine whole serum and anti-bovine IgG. Purity (SDS-PAGE): Not less than 95%.
