本品系蔗糖经肠膜状串珠菌L.-M-1226号菌（Leucomostoc mesenteroides）发酵后生成的高分子葡萄糖聚合物。经处理精制而得。***20的重均分子量应为16000-24000.

2010年中国药典标准，测定分子量及分子量分布，照分子排阻色谱法（附录 V H），以亲水性球型高聚物为填充剂（如TSK G PWXL或Shodex OH pak SB HQ），以硫酸钠为流动相，柱温35℃，示差折光检测器。（药典二部 P111）
