- Glutathione coupled to Sepharose™ 4 Fast Flow via a 10-carbon spacer arm.
- Excellent for scale-up due to high capacity and high flow properties.
Technical Information
Glutathone Sepharose 6 Fast Flow for purification of GST-tagged proteins.
Glutathione Sepharose™ 4 Fast Flow is used for the purification of GST-tagged proteins from bacterial lysates and other S-tranferases or glutathione-dependent proteins. Mild elution conditions preserve protein antigenicity and function. Sepharose™ 4 Fast Flow provides good flow properties and is excellent for scaling up.
For more information of the full range of products included in the Glutathione S-transferase (GST*) Gene Fusion System, see Introduction to Glutathione S-Transferase (GST) Gene Fusion System. A more comprehensive guide to the GST Gene Fusion System is available in handbook 18-1157-58, see Media Reference Books, Software and Video Cassettes.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS | Ligand | Glutathione | Ligand coupling method | Epoxy activation | Matrix | Highly cross-linked agarose, 4% | Average particle size | 90 μm | Binding capacity* | » 10 mg recombinant GST/ml medium | pH stability | 3-12 | Chemical stability | All commonly used aqueous buffers, e.g. 1 M acetate, pH 6.0, 0.1 M NaOH, 70% ethanol, 6 M guanidine hydrochloride (1 h at room temperature) | Storage | 20% ethanol | Storage temperature | 4°C to 30°C | *Binding of GST to glutathione is flow-rate dependent and lower flow rates often increase the binding capacity. This is important to consider during sample loading and elution. | |
