Oligo(dT)-Cellulose Type 7

For simple affinity-purification of polyadenylated mRNA.
High binding capacity and chemical stability.
Supplied as dried powder. Each gram occupies a packed volume of ~ 2.5-3.5 ml when suspended in water and binds 80-100 A₂₆₀ units of poly(A) in 10 mM Tris (pH 7.5) and 500 mM KCl.

Technical Information

Affinity chromatography occupies a unique place in purification technology, since it is the only technique that allows separation of biological molecules on the basis of either individual structure or biological function. Oligo(dT)-cellulose is particularly useful to molecular biologists, since it simplifies the purification of polyadenylated mRNA. GE Healthcare Type 7 Oligo(dT)-Cellulose was developed specifically for this purpose. It is supplied as a dried powder. Each gram binds between 80 and 100 A₂₆₀ units of poly(A) in 10 mM Tris (pH 7.5) and 500 mM KCl.
