| Description | This human IL-2 ELISA is a 4.5 hour solid phase immunoassay readily applicable to measure IL-2 levels in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, and other biological fluids in the range of 0 to 2500pg/ml. It showed no cross reactivity with other cytokines tested. This IL-2 ELISA is expected to be effectively used for further investigations into the relationship between IL-2 and the various conditions mentioned. This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for IL-2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any IL-2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After washing away any unbound substances, an enzyme-linked polyclonal antibody-enzyme specific for IL-2 is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound antibody-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-2 bound in the initial step. The |
