It is metabolized in peripheral tissues by a chymotrypsin-like serine carboxypeptidase causing C-terminal deamidation and removal of the methionine residue. The metabolites of Antagonist G retain neuropeptide antagonist properties and are thought to contribute to the parent peptide's antitumor activity. |
