| Description | S100 calcium-binding protein A4 (S100A4) is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100A4 promotes metastasis in several experimental animal models, and S100A4 protein expression is associated with differential patient outcome in a number of tumor types. S100A4 is localized in the nucleus, cytoplasm, and extracellular space and possesses a wide range of biological functions such as regulation of angiogenesis, cell survival, motility, and invasion.Recombinant S100 calcium-binding protein A4 (S100A4) produced in E. coli is a single chain containing 101 amino acids with molecular mass of 11.7 kDa analyzed by reducing SDS-PAGE.
