| Description | Trypsin-1, also known as Beta-trypsin, Cationic trypsinogen, Serine protease 1, Trypsin I, TRP1, TRY1, TRY4, TRYP1 and PRSS1, is a member of the trypsin family of serine proteases. PRSS1 contains one peptidase S1 domain and binds one calcium ion per subunit. PRSS1 is secreted by the pancreas and cleaved to its active form in the small intestine. Trypsin-1 is active on peptide linkages involving the carboxyl group of lysine or arginine.
