| Description | This peptide is amino acids 1 to 34 fragment of ubiquitin. Ubiquitin, a 76-residue protein, is shown to have activity against fungal and bacterial pathogens. This N-terminal peptide is stopped at the fungal wall level, whereas C-terminal peptide is able to cross the cell wall and the plasma membrane of fungi and to accumulate in fungi. It was shown that these two peptides act synergistically to kill filamentous fungi. This N-terminal peptide can be used with C-terminal-derived peptide as a effective anti-fungal agent.
