Depolymerizes microtubules and limits microtubule formation (inactivates spindle fibre formation). Inhibits mitosis during cell division at metaphase by inhibiting spindle formation. Low concentrations affect microtubule dynamics and cell migration, while high concentrations promote microtubule detachment from microtubule organizing center.
