| Description | HKR3 was one of several partially characterized zinc finger genes identified by Ruppert et al. (1988) that are related to the GLI protooncogene and which are members of the Kruppel-related gene family. Kruppel-like zinc finger proteins are characterized by a highly conserved sequence of 7 amino acids termed the H/C link (thr-gly-glu-lys-pro-tyr-X) that connect the fingers.
