Inhibitors of apoptosis proteins (IAP's) block cell death by caspase inhibition. X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis (XIAP) is a member of the IAP family. Smac/DIABLO is expressed in a variety of tissues and has been identified as a negative regulator of XIAP. |
