| Description | Mouse monoclonal to Integrin beta 1. The molecular weight of the recognized antigen is 130 kDa. CD29 is the integrin B1 chain which isexpressed as a heterodimer non covalently associated with the integrin alpha subunits 1 to 6 CD49a toCD49f and known as very late antigens VLA. It is also called platelet GPlla. The antigen mediatescellular adhesion. It has a broad cellular reactivity but is not expressed by erythrocytes. In normalperipheral blood CD29 is found on a subset of CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes 1. It is slightly reactivewith peripheral B cells 1. The coexpression of CD4 and CD29 allows the identification of thehelper/inducer subpopulation of CD4 lymphocytes. Clone Lia 1/2 induces cell aggregation. |
