By Western blot a band is seen at 49 kDa, representing PDK1 protein. There are also two higher and one lower non-specific molecular weight bands. In ICC/IF, mitochondiral staining was observed in HeLa cells. The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors. |

The PDK-1 Antibody has been validated for the following applications: Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence. PDK1 (Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Kinase Isoenzyme 1) plays a role in glucose and metabolism of fatty acid regulation via phosphorylation of the pyruvate dehydrogenase subunits. PDK1 also inhibits the activity of pyruvate dehydrogenase and helps regulate metabolite change. PDK1 cellular response to hypoxia is important for cell proliferation under hypoxic conditions. PDK1 also protects against apoptosis in response to oxidative stress and conditions of low oxygen. |
