| Description | Rabbit polyclonal to WNT4.Wingless-type MMTV integration site family, member 4 (WNT4) belongs to the WNT family ofsecreted signaling proteins. The members of this family have been implicated in oncogenesis, as wellas developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis.WNT4 is the first signaling molecule shown to influence the sex-determination cascade. It plays acrucial role in both the control of female development and the prevention of testes formation.Overexpression of WNT4 may be associated with abnormal proliferation in human breast tissue.Mutations in WNT4 may result in Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome and SERKAL syndrome. |
