Description | Rabbit Anti-Human CES2 polyclonal antibody for WB, IHC. Cocaine esterase (EC 3.1.1.1; EC 3.1.1.56; EC 3.1.1.84; UniProt O00748; also known as Carboxylesterase 2, CE-2, hCE-2, iCE, Intestinal carboxylesterase, Liver carboxylesterase-2, Methylumbelliferyl-acetate deacetylase 2) is encoded by the CES2 (also known as CES2A1, ICE) gene (Gene ID 8824) in human. Human carboxylesterase 1 (CES1 or CES1A) and carboxylesterase 2 (CES2) are serine esterases responsible for the hydrolysis of ester and amide bonds present in several types of chemical compounds, including prodrugs such as imidapril and irinotecan (CPT-11). CES1A and CES2 are the two major members among human CES genes. CES1 is predominantly expressed in the liver and the lung, whereas CES2 is expressed in the gastrointestinal tract and the liver. |
