Endocan is a proteoglycan composed of a 20 kDa mature polypeptide and a 30 kDa chondroitin / dermatan sulfate chain.

Purified recombinant human Endocan (LIP-1001) is treated with proteinase K. Then the glycan chain is purified by ion exchange on DEAE-sepharose

• increases endothelial migration induced by VEGF,
