UMOXS™ Cabinet Expansion Kits Symmetric Base Expansion Kit, converts a 3000-pair cabinet body to a 4200-pair cabinet bodyCorning UMOXS™ standard cabinet expansion kits permit increasing the capacity of existing 1800- or 3000-pair UMOXS standard cabinets to accommodate customer growth. 1800-pair cabinets can be expanded to 3000 pairs, while 3000-pair cabinets can be expanded to 4200 pairs. Both expansion cabinets are designed to mount on the existing cabinet base without disturbing wiring or interrupting service to subscribers. The 3000-pair expansion cabinet may only be installed symmetrically (centered) on the existing 1800-pair cabinet base. However, a unique feature of the 4200-pair expansion cabinet is its ability to be installed symmetrically (centered) or asymmetrically (offset to the left or right side) of the existing cabinet base. This feature permits cabinet expansion, even if there is an obstruction on one end of the existing cabinet. The reusable QKM993A Column Holding Fixture supports the mounting columns while performing the cabinet expansion to permit uninterrupted service throughout the expansion procedure.
