Product Name | Rabbit IgG Against Swine Transferrin (Biotin) |
---|---|
Catalog Number | orb21563 |
Species/Host | Rabbit |
Conjugation | Biotin |
Tested applications | DOT, IEP |
Immunogen | Purified transferrin isolated from pooled swine serum. Freunds complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure. |
Target | Rabbit IgG Against Swine Transferrin (Biotin). The reactivity of the antiserum is restricted to transferrin as tested in immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion. A characteristic single precipitin line is obtained with normal serum which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line with purified transferrin. |
Form/Appearance | Vial with 1 ml lyophilized immunoconjugate. |
Concentration | IgG protein concentration 1 mg/ml. Biotin/IgG protein molar ratio (B/P) is approximately 3.9. No foreign proteins added. |
Preservatives | No preservative added |
Storage | The lyophilised immunoconjugate is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at 4°C ; prolonged storage at or below -20°C. Reconstitute the lyophilised antiserum by adding 1 ml sterile distilled water. Dilutions may be prepared by adding phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the product. Diluted antiserum should be stored at 4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. |
Note | For research use only. |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Adsorption | Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized antigens as required, to eliminate antibodies reacting with other serum proteins. The use of insolubilized adsorption antigens prevents the presence of excess adsorbent protein or immune complexes in the antiserum. |
Application Notes | Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to serum proteins, since homologous proteins of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail. Conjugation Notes: Conjugation is carried out using a proprietary modification of the periodate technique for the binding to peroxidase, followed by several purification steps. After each step activity and specificity are tested in a variety of techniques. The conjugate is lyophilized to assure stability and long shelf life. Experiment Notes: Hyperimmune antisera with strong precipitating activity are selected for fractionation by salt- precipitation and purification of the IgG fraction by DEAE-chromatography. |
