Product Name Donkey Serum Against Goat IgG
Catalog Number orb22139
Species/Host Donkey
Conjugation Unconjugated
Tested applications DOT, IEP
Immunogen Purified normal IgG isolated from pooled goat serum. Freunds complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Target IgG. The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc and Fab subunits of both subclasses, IgG1 and IgG2. It includes a certain degree of reactivity with other immunoglobulins via the common Fab portion. In immunoelectrophoresis against goat serum a single characteristic precipitin line with a spur is usually obtained, representing primarily IgG2. If the IgG1 level in the sample approaches the concentration of IgG2, it may become visible as a second precipitin line. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in goat serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion.
Form/Appearance Vial with 1 ml lyophilized antiserum.
Concentration Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled donkey serum. No foreign proteins added.
Preservatives No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. No foreign protein added.
Storage The lyophilised antiserum is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at 4°C; prolonged storage at or below -20°C. It is reconstituted by adding 1 ml sterile distilled water. Working dilutions are prepared by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at 4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the product.
Note For research use only.
Clonality Polyclonal
Application Notes Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail, however a strong reaction was observed with sheep, a moderate reaction with swine and less with rabbit, as tested in double radial immunodiffusion.

IE: In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μl or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 ulantiserum in a 3 mm diameter centre well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells.
