Recombinant Human Neurotrophin-3 is a neurotrophic factor involved in regulating the survival of visceral and proprioceptive sensory neurons. It is closely homologous to Nerve Growth Factor beta (NGF-b) and BDNF.

NT-3 is expressed also in muscles and its expression is downregulated in denervated muscles. Many human gliomas express and secrete NT-3 into the conditioned medium.
