Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is a cytokine produced by fibroblasts and endothelial cells.
For more information and to purchase products, please login. SCF binds to the receptor known as c-Kit (CD117). SCF plays a crucial part in the maintenance or survival of hematopoietic stem cells. Human SCF does not show activity on murine cells, but murine and rat SCF appear to be active on human cells. Recombinant human SCF produced in E. coli is a non-glycosylated protein, made up of 165 amino acids with a molecular mass of 18.4 kDa.
