Suberohydroxamic acid (SBHA) is a competitive HDAC inhibitor. SBHA has been shown to cause cell differentiation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis.

SBHA inhibits HDAC1 with an IC50 = 0.25 µM and HDAC3 with an IC50 = 0.3 µM.

Soluble in DMSO and DMF, purged with an inert gas. Solubility in DMSO and DMF is approximately 1.3 mg/ml and 0.1 mg/ml respectively. For maximum solubility in aqueous buffers, dissolve SBHA in DMSO then dilute with the aqueous buffer of choice.

A crystalline solid

Store at or below –20°C. Solid form is stable at least 12 months from date of receipt, when stored as directed. Do not store aqueous solutions for more than one day.
