Background: PKLR is a pyruvate kinase which catalyzes the transphosphorylation of phohsphoenolpyruvate into pyruvate and ATP. This reaction is the rate-limiting step of glycolysis. PKLR gene encodes the L- and R-type isoenzymes through alternate splicing events controlled by different promoters. L-type isoform can also appear as a tetramer and is upregulated by glucose with implications in maturity-onset diabetes of the young.

buffer containing 50 mM Tris (pH 7.4), 10
mM MgCl2, 50 mM KCl, 2 mM ADP, 10 mM
phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) at room
temperature for 15 min. ATP production is
detected using Kinase-Glo® Luminescent
Kinase Assay Platform.
Formulation: 40 mM Tris pH 8.0, 110 mM NaCl, 2.2 mM KCl, 0.04% Tween-20, 20% glycerol, and 3 mM DTT.
