Species: Human
Host Species: E. coli
MW: 9 kDa
Genbank #: P51671
a.a: 24–97
Background: Eotaxin belongs to the platelet factor-4 family of chemokines. The gene symbol is SCYA11. The factor is being referred to also as Eotaxin-1 and has been renamed CCL11. Eotaxin induces substantial accumulation of eosinophils in the skin without significantly affecting the accumulation of neutrophils. Eotaxin is a potent stimulator of both guinea pig and human eosinophils in vitro. The Eotaxin receptor is a G-protein-coupled receptor selectively expressed in human eosinophils .
Description: Recombinant Eotaxin-1 is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein consisting of 75 amino acid residues, and migrates as an approximately 9 kDa protein under non-reducing and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE. Optimized DNA sequence encoding human Eotaxin-1 mature chain was expressed in E. coli.
UniProt P51671
Synonym(s): CCL11, SCYA11, Eotaxin-1
Purity: ≥97% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Endotoxin Level: <0.1 ng/µg (1 EU/µg), using the LAL gel clot method.
Biological Activity: Biological activity was determined by the ability to induce chemotaxis of purified eosinophils at concentrations ranging between 50-100 ng/ml.
Formulation: Lyophilized from 0.2 µm filtered solution (1 mg/ml) in PBS, pH 7.4.
Format: lyophilized protein
Reconstitution: Reconstitute at 0.1-1.0 mg/ml in distilled water. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers. To maximize product collection from vial surface, vortex briefly and then spin down to recollect the liquid.
Storage / Stability: The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt when stored at -20°C. Upon reconstitution, store in working aliquots at +4°C for up to one month, or at -20°C for up to six months, in the presence of a carrier protein. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Reference(s): 1.
