4-iodo-SAHA is a hydrophobic derivative of SAHA, a class I and class II histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor. Similar to SAHA, it demonstrates > 60% inhibition of HDAC1 and HDAC6 activity in a deacetylase activity assay at 1 µM.

Description: Purity: ≥98% by HPLC Biological Activity: 4-iodo-SAHA inhibits SKBR3 breast-derived and HT29 colon-derived cell line proliferation with EC50 values comparable to that of SAHA (1.1 µM and 0.95 µM versus 2.1 µM and 2 µM, respectively). It has 10 times the inhibition strength of U937 leukemia cell proliferation in comparison to SAHA (0.12 µM versus 1.2 µM, respectively).
Solubility: Solubility in ethanol is 0.2 mg/ml and 30 mg/ml in DMSO and DMF. First, dissolve in DMSO then dilute with the aqueous buffer of choice.
Format: A crystalline solid
Storage / Stability: Store at or below –20°C. Solid form is stable at least 12 months from date of receipt, when stored as directed. Do not store aqueous solutions for more than one day.
