Background: The Site-Directed Mutagenesis Kit is a simple and highly efficient method to insert any mutation (pint, insert, deletion) into a vector, without time-consuming ligation steps. Multiple mutations can be performed in a single step. The procedure is easy: mutations are generated in the gene of interest using appropriate primers and PCR amplification. This purified PCR product is incubated with restriction enzyme-digested vector and Reagent A of the Site-Directed Mutagenesis Kit. Following a brief (5 minute) incubation with Reagent B, the annealed vector is ready for transformation.
Description: The BPS Bioscience Site Directed Mutagenesis kit allows for the insertion of multiple mutations into the desired vector in a single reaction. No ligation step is required, saving time and effort. Go from PCR product to transforming cells in under an hour! Simply mix the purified PCR product with the vector in a 1:1 molar ratio (Total DNA : Vector) and follow the protocol. Available with or without competent cells for even greater efficiency and flexibility.

Storage / Stability: Store competent cells at -80°C upon receipt, all other components may be stored at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Upon first thaw, store all reagents in single use aliquots. Stable for at least 6 months from date of receipt, when stored as directed. Application(s): The Site-Directed Mutagenesis Kit is designed to insert or "fix" any mutation (point, insert, deletion) into a vector in a quick, single-step reaction.
