Soruberoylanilide Hydroxamic Acid (SAHA), or Vorinostat, is a histone deacetylase inhibitor and causes growth arrest and death of some transformed cells both in vitro and in vivo, with little or no toxic effects on normal cells.

SAHA inhibits HDAC1 with IC50 of 40.6 nM using the BPS Bioscience Fluorogenic HDAC Assay Kit (Cat. # 50033).

Soluble in DMSO at 66 mg/ml; soluble in ethanol at 2 mg/ml with slight warming; very poorly soluble in water; maximum solubility in plain water is estimated to be about 20-50 µM

White to off-white crystalline solid; granular or powder.

Store at or below –20°C. Solid form is stable at least 12 months from date of receipt, when stored as directed. Do not store aqueous solutions for more than one day.
