BT-21 Bursting Strength Tester – Mullen Type

Interactive & intuitive software for making routine QA testing easy, or for more in depth R&D studies. Paper and board versions available with a maximum capacity of 1300kPa and 5500kPa respectively.

Includes wide LCD display for showing graphical progression of a test and automatically the maximum bursting strength at the end of the test. Selectable options to show the Burst Strength, Bursting Index, Absolute Bursting Strength and statistical calculations.

Test results can be stored in the instrument’s memory and the software also allows the user to search the memory by date, operator ID or material grade/type. There is also an integral thermal printer for printing reports and graphics.

By using light weight resistant materials, the weight of the tester has been dramatically reduced to only 30kgs. Includes pneumatic clamping with safety guards and interlinked safety devices. The BT-21 Burst Tester has a steel frame body, a strain gauge pressure transducer, pneumatic sample clamping system, built-in hydraulics for the diaphragm, a quick connector for calibration, built-in electronics and exclusive testing software.

According to Mullen, the bursting strength resistance is one of the most important physical characteristics to measure in most flexible substrates including paper, board, textiles, non-wovens, foils and plastics.
