Mocon OpTech O2 Platinum Gas Analyser

Non-invasive measurement of Oxygen content of closed packages through a transparent film & of Dissolved Oxygen. Includes automatic compensation for the internal gas pressure of the test package, important as the test method is dependent on gas pressure. Ideal for the repeated measurement of the same package and determining the shelf life of the contents.

The optical fluorescence measuring principle means that the integrity of the pack is not compromised by having to extract a gas sample, making it ideally suited for long term testing & trials. Light weight, easy to use and giving test results fast. Includes PC
software for convenient data management. Conforms to ASTM F2714-08.

The OpTech – O2 Platinum sensor can be used in 3 ways.

  • For measuring the headspace gas in clear packages – the platinum sensor is supply in self adhesive sticker. The sticker sensor is placed in the package using a vacuum pen. After the package has been sealed, the Oxygen content can be measured by pointing the handheld reader at the sticker sensor.
  • For measuring the Oxygen content inside opaque packages like retort pouches. The ImPULSE platinum sensor – ideal for shelf & respiration trials.
  • For measuring packs with a limited volume of headspace gas such as coffee pods or pharma blisters. Can be used in conjunction with an invasive needle that incorporates the platinum sensor.
