Testing the headspace gas of pressurized cans is made possible by using the optional Pressure Relief Valve Kit ( # 340178 ). It enables the user to test the headspace gas by first releasing the gas pressure in the can safely and not allowing the ingress of air into the can to contaminate the headspace prior to sampling. The Dansensor® CheckMate 3 only requires a very small amount of headspace to ensure a reliable result. Please note that on its own, the Dansensor® CheckMate3 is not designed to test pressurised gasses and doing so may cause damage to the instrument. The Dansensor® CheckMate 3 with can piercer is therefore a perfect tool for measuring in cans, bottles and containers with small headspace.
