Test Description
Prepare samples, approx 25 x 25 mm, to a max of 360g of wet paste and then dilute in 23 liters of water. The suspension is then poured into the refining container. It is advisable to take a sample unrefinedmaterial at this point as a comparison, before placing the weights on the lever.

During refining, the first sample should be taken after the first 5 minutes and repeated every 15 minutes (sulphite pulps), or 20 minutes (kraft pulps) to reach or exceed the maximum power.monitor refining power consumption variations created by different pulps, concenrations and/or pressures over the refining roll

The samplings can then be used to make uniform sheets of paper to plot different refining curves, through which the pulps can be classified. The curves show not only the final effort of the paste, but most importantly, the ratio of stress developed.
