Narishige's EMM-3SV is an electronically-controlled motor-driven ultra-high-precision 3-axis micromanipulator.  It can position itself with 0.02 micron precision, yet move a full 4 centimeters in the X, Y, and Z Axes.  Developed for use in demanding applications such as electrophysiology, the EMM-3SV incorporates the smooth operability and vernier controls of our hydraulic systems, but adds extra precision and many useful functions not available with hydraulic micromanipulators.  This motorized micromanipulator, designed for use by experienced professionals and novices alike, ensures stability, reproducibility and resistance to drift.

A fluorescent digital display provides excellent visibility.  The rack-mountable power supply unit can save space near the microscope.  Position readings in the X, Y, and Z axes are calibrated in microns (micrometers, µm) for ease of use.

Narishige's familiar vernier remote control knobs are employed.  These control knobs are equivalent in size to those of their well-known hydraulic units, allowing the same operating feel and making it easy to make the switch to motorized control.

The compact control box is easy to position ergonomically, and enables advanced functions such as:
  • Electrode retraction to a home position, then return to the object of interest
  • Storage of, and return to, up to 5 different positions
  • Synthesized movement in the "T-axis" (direct movement in the axis of the electrode itself, without separate movement in the X and Z axes).


The drive unit is specially designed to control any vibrations created by the motors and external sources, providing enhanced stability.&nbsp The EMM-3SV provides ample working distance of 40mm in the X, Y, and Z axes, yet the drive unit is designed to reduce its size to a minimum.
